American Powertrain’s New Aluminum T-56 Magnum Mopar Small Block Bellhousing

Looking to give your classic Mopar a more modern edge? The Tremec GM/Viper Magnum is the perfect choice. The popularity of the Tremec GM/Viper Magnum T-56 6-speeds have continued to grow over the years. Supporting up to 700 lb-ft of torque and weighing in just a few pounds heavier than an old cast iron 4-speed makes it the perfect choice for any pro-tourer, road racer or just the enthusiast that likes to cruise. To help with the cost of doing such a swap, American Powertrain is now offering a more budget friendly aluminum bellhousing for all small block Mopar enthusiasts.

American Powertrain is excited to announce the new bellhousing will bolt right up to your Mopar 318, 340, 360, Magnum 5.2 and 5.6. It will also bolt up to all Gen III Hemis too. Yes, there is now a cheaper option than buying an expensive SFI rated solid steel bellhousing. No matter the motor of choice, the bellhousing allows use of a drivers side mounted Mopar mini starter, 10.5” clutch and 130 tooth flywheel. American Powertrain offers multiple clutch and flywheel options.

The new aluminum SBM to T-56 bellhousing is proudly made right here in the USA. Although the bellhousing is not SFI rated at the moment, the housing is thicker and stronger than the factory classic bellhousings you might be used to. It also comes with a removable dust cover for easy access to inside the bellhousing.

American Powertrain sent us this bellhousing for use on Project Orange Crush. We are currently in the middle of swapping a 6.4 Gen III Hemi into the car and will retain our T-56 Magnum transmission. So far the bellhousing has surpassed our expectations. We wish this was available a few years ago when we first did our swap. We have no complaints and look forward to having the benefits of better accessibility if needed and shaving a few pounds off Orange Crush. Give American Powertrain a call today and order everything you need to get those extras gears your Mopar deserves.
