Borgeson Universal Company, the steering gear stalwarts out of South Carolina, have added to their extensive product lineup with the acquisition of JJ’s Rods E-Z Firewall Boots. With roots dating back to universal joint manufacturing in the early 1900s, this is yet another solid stepping stone in their effort to be an all-encompassing supplier for the stuff needed to spin wheels.

JJ’s bread and butter has been boots of all kinds. There are some for steering shafts, some for linkage, and others for wiring. Mopar-specific products listed so far include direct fit steering column boots for 1967-1976 A-bodies (P/N 326769PB-1) and 1987-1995 Jeep Wranglers (P/N 32879517-1).

Borgeson Universal Company has announced the acquisition of the assets of JJ’s Rods E-Z Firewall Boots, an award-winning manufacturer of steering column and firewall boots based in Wingate North Carolina. JJ’s Rods inventory, tooling and assets have been relocated to Borgeson’s manufacturing facility in Travelers Rest and the products will be manufactured, assembled and shipped from Borgeson’s facility.
