Silver Sport Transmissions Releases The New A41X For 4WD Applications

Silver Sport Transmissions is taking their automatic transmission lineup off road with the new A41X overdrive for four-wheel-drive applications. With the A41 being such a massive success in muscle car retrofits, it was only natural that SST would expand its use to more than just the rear-wheeled market.

For us Mopar-ites, the A41X’s 30% overdriven fourth gear is a perfect upgrade over an older style transmission like the 3-speed 904 or 727. It’s even a no-brainer to replace the outdated A-518, 46H, or 46E overdrive models that were factory Chrysler offerings in the early ’90’s.

The benefit, of course, is that the A41X is built around a tried and true platform and available in three different power ratings; Stage 1 boasts a 450 ft.-lbs. rating, Stage 2 steps up to 550 ft.-lbs., and Stage 3 can take a 650 ft.-lbs. beating.
