Video: ’71 Plymouth Cuda Winds Up Magnuson-Supercharged 6.1 Hemi

When you name a ’71 Barracuda “Orangasm” you better have the goods to back it up. And we’d admit that it looks like this custom Plymouth E-body rolling out of Mann’s Restoration in Festus, MO. just might qualify. Powered by a modern SRT8 6.1 Liter Hemi topped with a Magnuson MagnaCharger, this gnarly Gen III elephant is pressing out north of 600 horsepower.

All that power is being put to the ground through a TR6060 six-speed manual gearbox backed by a Dana 60 rearend. The Barracuda keeps things up-to-date with full MagnumForce suspension, Billet Specialties aluminum wheels, and slick Wilwood disc brakes at all four corners. From front to back, this Plymouth is packed with so many custom features, that it’s difficult to list them all.

If you thought the old school Shaker hood was telling, make sure you check out a very custom see-through hood (very similar in styling to the original shaker hood scoop), plenty of carbon fiber accents, a fully custom interior, wild LED. lighting, aftermarket gauges, a eardrum-splitting custom stereo, and much, much more.

Of course, this is no OE restoration as the custom paint is as slick on top as it is on the undercarriage, so don’t expect this to hit any gravel roads anytime soon. Recently “Orangasm” received the Builder’s Choice Award at Goodguys Lone Star Nationals in Ft. Worth, Texas, and we can see why.
