For classic and custom car enthusiasts on the west coast of Canada, the British Columbia Classic & Custom Car Show that takes place every April is usually the first show of the season. Held at the Tradex Convention Center in Abbotsford, BC; this three day event attracts thousands of people.
Sponsored by Lucas Oil Products Canada, the event is always jammed packed with exciting features such as live entertainment, special guests ranging from Chip Foose to the late George Barris and over 250 of the Pacific Northwest’s best classic and custom cars. To mark the 20th anniversary of the show this year, the special guest for the weekend was drag racing legend Don “The Snake” Prudhomme.
On top of that, more than 75 of BC’s top aftermarket automotive communities are on site giving out free product samples, demos and deals. One of the biggest events at the show is the “Fuel & Fire” display where you witness a nitro dragster and jet-funny car fire up in the dark and shoot 30-foot flames out lighting up the sky.
While the show is usually made up of mostly GM and Ford products as most open shows are, there is always a good mix of Mopars to be seen as well. The local Mopar club, Mopars Unlimited of Vancouver always does a good sized display of four or so cars on top of the dozen or so people that enter their Mopars on their own. Mopar Connection Magazine was on hand for this year’s festivities and brought you a great gallery of some of our favorites from Ma’ Mopar for your enjoyment:
