QA1 Expands Suspension Catalog With Detroit Speed Acquisition

QA1 announced that it has agreed with Holley Performance Brands (Holley) to acquire the assets of Detroit Speed & Engineering (Detroit Speed). The addition of Detroit Speed aligns with QA1’s mission to deliver high-performance suspension and chassis components to automotive builders.

QA1’s Chief Executive Officer, Melissa Scoles, said, “QA1 is thrilled to welcome the Detroit Speed team. We’ve been continually impressed by the innovation and quality of their products, and we’re excited for what the future holds.”

The acquisition of Detroit Speed will elevate QA1’s product catalog, boost its premium offerings, and enrich the support for its followers. Detroit Speed’s expertise and innovation will further strengthen QA1’s position in the market.

President and Chief Executive Officer of Holley Performance Brands, Matthew Stevenson, added, “We continue to take steps at Holley Performance Brands to position our brands for long-term growth and success. QA1 is the right strategic partner to take Detroit Speed to the next level, and we look forward to seeing what these two businesses accomplish together as one team.”

If you have not heard of Detroit Speed, the following will provide insight into the company. Detroit Speed is renowned for developing long-lasting, dependable products that exceed late-model performance expectations. Its dedicated team of highly qualified engineers, known for their expertise and innovation, design the products, and skilled fabricators build the best components and subsystems.

Detroit Speed’s commitment to innovation is evident in its use of state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies. These include CNC machining, forging, hydroforming, and additional techniques aimed at transforming a muscle car-era ride into a late-model powerhouse.

At Detroit Speed, several test vehicles (developmental mules) roll thousands of miles across the odometer yearly while attending car shows, completing road trips, and running at road course events. Each mule is used to evaluate parts, develop proper product fit and finish, and re-test revised products as needed.

Detroit Speed’s operations will continue in Mooresville, North Carolina, ensuring a smooth ownership transition and minimizing product production disruption. As the plans become firmer, more details will be announced.
