With modern HEMI swaps into old Mopars becoming very popular over the last number of years, Mopar and Direct Connection have decided to step up their game even further with the announcement of the Direct Connection 1500 Hemi crate engine. This brand new engine delivers a whole new level of high performance packing 1,500 horsepower and over 1,000 ft-lbs. of torque right out of the box!
According to Direct Connection, “the all-new Direct Connection 1500 Hemi is a reliable engine combination for enthusiasts and racers, offering industry leading performance and drivability. This engine is compatible with the Hellcrate wiring harness and is a plug and play platform for pre-1976 swaps and custom builds. With a displacement of 426 cubic-inches, the new Supercharged Gen 3 Hemi crate is based off a stroked BGE cast iron block and features a Whipple Gen 5 3.0L Stage 2 ported supercharger on top.
Inside, it features an ultra billet steel crankshaft, ultra I beam connecting rods, billet aluminum pistons, a custom high performance camshaft and high performance valvetrain. It also features ported 356 aluminum cylinder heads and 1700cc injectors that force feed E85 fuel into it’s system.
