Video: Unboxing A Bill Mitchell Products Aluminum Block With Griffitts Garage

Freshly-melted aluminum continues to pour into Mopar shops across the country as Bill Mitchell Products (BMP) pumps out a parade of new 426 and 440 blocks. Weighing in at approximately 140 pounds, the 440 version is a super stealthy and super strong option for those that don’t want the fanfare of a Hemi-headed monster.

Kevin Griffitts over at the Griffitts Garage YouTube channel recently took delivery of his new BMP 440 block for a ‘64 Fury build.

“I’ve had this 1964 Plymouth Fury since high school (36 years ago)! She hasn’t been on the streets for the last 14 years. I’m building a new engine for her and everything that goes along with that right here in my tiny 1-1/2 car garage,” Kevin explained in a prior video.

Like a kid on Christmas, Griffitts popped the top on the fresh crate from BMP to find a shiny chunk of precision-machined aluminum goodness. Amazingly, it was no problem for the star of the show to manhandle it alone.

Several minutes of drooling followed and with good reason. “It is a work of art and I honestly feel privileged to have it,” Griffitts says of the lightweight piece that’ll punch way above its weight class.

While the block in the video is the 4.490” bore unit, BMP does also offer a smaller 4.240” version as well. Both are available online or potential buyers can give customer service a call at (386) 957-3009 for more information.
